Our stories are powerful and they have shaped much of the work we do.

Feature of the Month

Smitha B.
Is a Small Acts for Sustainability Scholar. She is presently a graduate student at the University of Mysore.

Fiona and I were put in contact a little over a year ago when I began work on a thesis examining sanitary supply access at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. In order to raise awareness about the topic, I hosted a screening of the short documentary Period. End of Sentence; Fiona graciously joined me in leading a discussion of the film and of the menstrual health movement in the U.S. and abroad. Given her work dismantling stigma around menstruation and her commitment to empowering young women, Fiona was the perfect panelist to add an on the ground perspective to our discussion. Fiona is a thoughtful and engaging speaker with a wealth of experience and compassion. I am looking forward to seeing how she continues to grow SAS and have no doubt that she will continue to positively impact the lives of women and girls.
